Recreation (intramural)

U6 - U8

For the Fall 2008 season, training for our U6 - U8 program will be provided by Wildcat Soccer Academy (Tony Lougee and his staff of the girls and boys varsity soccer teams for Mechanicsburg Area School District) as well as parent volunteer coaches . There will be 1 weeknight practice and 1 Saturday game at Fisher Park. Players (boys and girls) will train together in large groups. Games will be 3 vs 3 with no goalies. There will be no set teams, rather, players will rotate on game day and play mini games against other players within their group. A size 3 ball is used for U6 and U7 play. A size 4 ball is used for U8 play.

For the Fall 2008 season, the club will look to identify our strongest U8 players and place a team(s) in the League program (CPYSL) in a lower division of U9. This provides a jump start to League-level play for those U8 players who demonstrate their readiness to compete at this level. Players not selected to "play up" will remain in the Recreation program for further development.
